Yes, that's right the game currently is vulnerable to competition. All it takes is someone to copy all of its mechanics/design + updated engine/graphics and MINUS the Pay to Win.
MMO's have a lot to do with persistence, economy, trading and I don't think World of Warcraft can stay competitive in its current design if someone takes advantage of its current flaws.
